About

The person behind the systems.

R
Founder
Rick
Builder of FixedTrader. Manual trader for over a decade, systematic for the last 5 years

I started as a manual trader over a decade ago, spending years in front of the charts making discretionary decisions. It worked, but it had a ceiling: you can't scale something that depends on how you feel that morning, and you can't take a day off without missing setups. Five years ago I made the switch to fully systematic trading. Every rule I had learned manually got written down, tested against years of data, and turned into code. If the setup doesn't match the criteria exactly, there is no trade.

The systems on this site are the ones I run on my own live account. I don't sell systems I don't trade. Every backtest report included with a purchase shows the full history, including the losing months, because that's the only honest way to present performance.

FixedTrader exists because I couldn't find what I was looking for: systematic forex algorithms at a serious price point, with transparent data and real trade history, built by someone who actually uses them.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before purchasing.

What exactly do I receive after purchasing?
A personalised .ex5 file compiled and locked to your specific MT5 account number, the complete backtest report with every individual trade, a written setup guide, and a video walkthrough covering installation from MT5 download to live trading. Setup takes under an hour.
What is the best MT5 expert advisor without martingale or grid?
Any EA worth considering should openly state that it uses no martingale and no grid mechanics, because those two approaches produce smooth equity curves right up until they destroy the account. Our systems size every position from a fixed risk percentage with a hard stop loss on every trade. Position size never increases in response to a loss. The result is a verified 57% win rate on the Breakout System and 72% on Mean Reversion, with all losing months published on the live track record.
How do I verify that a forex trading algorithm is legitimate?
Demand third-party verification. Our live account runs on IC Markets and is tracked on MyFXBook with Track Record Verified status, meaning the data comes directly from the broker and cannot be edited. Compare the live win rate against the claimed backtest win rate: ours match at 57.3% live versus 57.2% backtest. Also check that losing months are published rather than hidden. Any seller who cannot show a verified live account is asking you to fund their experiment.
Can I use an EA to pass a prop firm challenge like FTMO?
Yes, on prop firms that allow algorithmic trading and news trading (many do at 1:30 leverage). The key is risk sizing: our historical simulation across 11 years of data shows a 100% Phase 1 pass rate at 0.5% risk per strategy, averaging about 5 months to reach the +10% target, with zero busted scenarios. Higher risk settings pass faster but bust in the worst historical sequences. Use the interactive challenge simulator on this page to test any configuration. Always confirm your specific firm allows EAs before purchasing a challenge.
Do I need trading experience or coding knowledge?
No coding required. You need a basic understanding of MetaTrader 5: how to open an account, deposit funds, and attach an EA to a chart. The video guide with every purchase covers every step from MT5 download to going live. Allow 1 to 2 hours to get fully set up.
Which forex broker works best for automated trading?
Any MT5 broker with ECN or raw-spread execution and no EA restrictions. Our live account runs on IC Markets, where spreads on the JPY pairs start from 0.0 pips. US residents are limited to CFTC/NFA regulated brokers; FOREX.com offers genuine MT5 support with EA permissions and is our recommendation for US traders. Backtest and live results assume ECN-grade execution, so avoid wide-spread market-maker accounts.
How much capital do I need to start algorithmic trading?
As a general guideline: $2,000 to $5,000 for the Mean Reversion System and $5,000+ for the Breakout System or Full System, so that percent-based position sizing has room to work with standard micro lots. Below those levels, minimum lot sizes force higher effective risk per trade than designed. Prop firm challenges are a capital-efficient alternative: a few hundred dollars in fees for a $50,000 to $100,000 funded account.
Is automated forex trading actually profitable?
It can be, with three conditions: a system with a real edge (verified live, not just backtested), risk sizing that survives losing streaks, and the discipline not to intervene during normal drawdowns. Our combined backtest shows a 67.8% CAGR over 11 years at 1% risk per trade, and the live account has gained over 30% since December 2025 including two losing months. Live results always run below backtest due to spreads and slippage. Anyone promising profits without drawdowns is selling fiction.
How many accounts can I run the EA on?
One licence covers one MT5 account number. The .ex5 file checks the account number at initialization and only runs on the licensed account. Switching brokers or account numbers is handled with a free re-compile. For multiple simultaneous accounts, contact us for multi-account pricing.
Do I need to keep my computer running?
The EA only trades while MetaTrader 5 is running and connected, so for uninterrupted automated trading a VPS is strongly recommended. Most brokers offer a free VPS once certain volume conditions are met, and MT5 has a built-in virtual server option. Setup instructions are included with every purchase.
What is your refund policy?
Because the product is compiled specifically to your account number and delivered digitally, all sales are final. This is stated before checkout. What you can verify before buying: the complete backtest methodology, the live MyFXBook track record, and every specification on this page. We deliberately publish losing months so buyers decide on complete information.
Is this financial advice?
No. FixedTrader sells software products. Nothing on this website constitutes financial or investment advice. Trading foreign exchange carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. Backtest results are hypothetical, and past performance is not indicative of future results. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

"The edge isn't in a secret indicator. It's in doing the same thing, under the same conditions, without exception."

Every rule in these systems exists because at some point, not having it cost money. The Full System is the result of 6,000 trades across 11 years: documented, backtested, and run on live capital.

Daily drawdown note: The −5% daily drawdown rule cannot be accurately modelled on monthly data. At the risk levels shown, the maximum single-trade loss is ~2.8% for breakout and ~1.0% for mean reversion, making a single-day −5% breach unlikely but possible.
